30 Days of Wincest ► Day 16: Favorite death
One year ago, Dean held his dying brother in his arms and learned what it was like to have the entire world ripped out from under you.
Now, Sam cradles Dean’s face in his hands and is unable to say anything but his brother’s name, just his brother’s name, which he’s said so many times at this point it’s barely even a word anymore. Just a sound, a breath. Or maybe a heartbeat.
Dean’s death is the catalyst for Sam desiring revenge against Lilith, for his trust in Ruby, the first gate opening, the introduction of the angels…
It also marks something that will happen again about two years later: one brother damning himself to save the other’s life.
I’m so sorry, Dean.
I said I was going to save you.
it turns out that your future, sometimes, belongs to someone else;
Like I Do.
we’ll cling together so tight that nothing and no one’ll ever tear us apart. every atom of me and every atom of you … and when they use our atoms to make new lives, they won’t just be able to take one, they’ll have to take two, one of you and one of me, we’ll be joined so tight.
